Fisher latest to blast Kiffin

Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher isn’t pleased with the way USC Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin hired away his running backs coach.

Fisher was caught off guard by the hire, saying Kiffin nor anyone from his staff bothered to call the Titans and let them know they were interested in speaking to one of his coaches.

The Titans head coach said that it was just the latest display of unprofessional behavior from Kiffin, who has been criticized by many in short time as a college football coach.

It also puts the Titans in a difficult position having lost their running backs coach less than a week before the start of training camp. ( Read More…)

Young apologizes for behavior

Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young apologized for his behavior at a Dallas strip club last week, as he awaits a decision by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell as to whether he’ll face league discipline for the misdemeanor he received.

Young was caught on surveillance video striking a Club Onyx employee who had flashed an upside-down Hook ‘Em Horns” sign. Young starred at University of Texas, leading his team to a national championship. The maximum punishment for the misdemeanor is a $500 fine. ( Read More…)

Titans fall to Texans, 34-31

The Tennessee Titans had extra time to prepare for the visiting Houston Texans, but apparently they needed some more of it.

The Titans defense, which had stymied the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season opener, imploded in a 34-31 loss.

The defense simply had no answer for quarterback Matt Schaub and wide receiver Andre Johnson, who hooked up for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

Tennessee wasted an unbelievable effort from running back Chris Johnson, who had nearly 300 total yards and three touchdowns.

At 0-2, the Titans have their work cut out for them to put themselves back into playoff contention.

Titans fall to Steelers, 13-10

The Tennessee Titans wasted an impressive effort in the season opener, falling on the road to the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime, 13-10.

The Titans had control of the game through the first three quarters, dominating the line of scrimmage and the all-important field position battle.

However, the fourth quarter and overtime was a different story. Pittsburgh went to a no-huddle offense that was heavy on the pass, and the Titans had no answer.

Despite the disappointing loss, there were certainly a number of positives to take away from the game.

Quarterback Kerry Collins looked very sharp and seemed to have found some play-makers in wide receivers Justin Gage and Kenny Britt.

The defense also didn’t seem to be affected by the loss of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to free agency in the offseason.

Titans look to ruin opening night in Pittsburgh

Titans look to ruin opening night in Pittsburgh

The Tennessee Titans, although formidable, are considered sacraficial lambs for Thursday night’s NFL opener.

The Titans are playing in Pittsburgh against the defending Super Bowl champions on a night that is sure to be more exciting than most.

However, the Titans are not the least bit concerned and are hungry themselves to get to the Super Bowl.

They had the best record in the AFC last year and all they had to show for it was yet another crushing playoff loss to Baltimore.

Pulling an upset in Week 1 would be a great way to kick off a run to the Super Bowl.
